Job Posting: Director of Operations

The Coquitlam Skating Club is one of the largest skating clubs in the Metro Vancouver area. We are a community-based skating club that offers a whole range of Skate Canada programming from CanSkate and Power Skating through to adult and elite level figure skating. The club has produced many high level national and international skaters in its almost 60-year history and has over 400 members. We have the privilege of operating out of the modern Poirier Recreation Complex in central Coquitlam where we have access to 3 skating rinks and several different facilities to offer our off-ice programs.

We are currently looking for a Director of Operations to oversee the running of the club. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• NCCP National level coaching certification 

• Several years’ experience running a figure skating club 

• Strong working knowledge of Uplifter and strong computer/web skills

• A strong work ethic, strong interpersonal skills,  the ability to manage an experienced and dedicated staff of full-time coaches, and the ability to work well and be accountable to a volunteer board of directors.

• The ability to work flexible hours that equate to roughly 40 hours per week. Programs run 8 to 10 hours a day Monday to Friday and 4 to 6 hours on Saturday. 

• Comfortable working with a wide range of athletes, from those new to skating to elite level athletes.

Compensation will be consist of a base salary and be commensurate with experience but will be in the range of $60 to $75 000 per year with the ability to earn more through private instruction.
